Karen Garner-Wing, Principal
Ms. Garner-Wing joined Walker & Company, LLP, as a consultant working on the
Federal Housing Administration's (FHA) Data Mining Project in early 2003 after
retiring from the Federal government with 23 years of experience at the Department
of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). At HUD, she served as Branch Chief in the
Quality Assurance Division and subsequently oversaw FHA's three divisions with
primary risk control functions as the Deputy Director, Office of Lender Activities
and Program Compliance. As Director of the Lender Approval and Recertication
Division, Ms. Garner-Wing was responsible for oversight of FHA's "gate-keeping"
function, i.e. determining the business partners through which FHA could offer its
mortgage insurance programs.
Ms. Garner-Wing leads the Government Outsourcing and Training/Technical Assistance
efforts of Walker & Company, overseeing a broad range of projects including
single-family and multi-family programs and a national borrower program
service center.
Ms. Garner-Wing received her Bachelors degree from the University of North
Carolina, Chapel Hill.
